Intergarden

Hooking up people with time to garden with people who have garden space.

This site is only useful if lots of people join and use it - which would be better if it started happening BEFORE the coming growing season. What ideas do you have or strategies have you used to help build Intergarden awareness and membership?

I'm telling Green America about us right now via email. I'm thinking to email Mother Earth News too.

I'm thinking if we each pick a region on http://www.Craigslist.org and post a simple, free ad once a week, we can spread the word around the country.

I've got the first Craigslist ad ready to post, but I can't do it until I get home. I'm posting it for the WEST CHICAGOLAND region.

If any of you want to put a free ad up on Craigslist for another area of the country, please do - and link it back to the main Intergarden page. The more we can spread the word of this site around the USA, the better.

All the best,

I just sent an e-mail to Jenny Timberlake Bellamy, Content Editor for Dirt Doctor.com about Intergarden, asking for help getting the word out ahead of the growing season.

Dirt Doctor is a nationally-syndicated Sunday radio show I listen to on WCPT (850 AM, 99.9 FM, 92.5 AM, 92.7 AM) and it is all about gardening tips and methods. People from around the country call in with questions, and the Dirt Doctor - Howard Garrett - answers their questions.

Cross your fingers and hope they give us an honorable mention!
